Welcome to the Phi-Painter and Copyist website! I'm a French artist and copyist specialising in oil techniques and portraiture. In my art gallery you'll find a mixture of original works and reproductions of old paintings, which reflect my background: I studied Art History and went on to become a lecturer and researcher in this discipline at university.

In my portfolio, you will find original creations made with oil paint, in a realistic or dreamlike style: portraits and landscapes.
The Phi-Artiste-Peintre art gallery also features copies or recreations of ancient works, chosen from the repertoire of Western painters active during the modern era (16th-18th centuries). This is another approach to creation, inviting visitors to enter into the creative intimacy of the deceased painter, to understand his craft, his intentions and his tastes in order to better grasp the essence of his vision.
C'est apprendre à connaître Pontormo, Michel-Ange, Velazquez, Zurbaran, Rembrandt, Rubens, Delacroix, Corot, Courbet, Manet, Degas, Renoir, Pissarro, Caillebotte, Cézanne, Van Gogh, Klimt, Hopper, etc., tous ces grands peintres académiques représentés par les hauts lieux de la culture ( le musée du Louvre, le musée d'Orsay, les trésors des collectionneurs de beaux arts).
C'est embrasser une tradition picturale issue de l'école des Beaux-Arts et des grands courants qui ont façonné la création : la Renaissance, le Baroque, l'Impressionnisme, le réalisme, l'art moderne figuratif et l'art contemporain.
