Copying old works
Phi-Artiste-Peintre's meticulous reproduction of classic works combines traditional techniques with modern materials such as natural or synthetic pigments. "Copying" consists in reproducing with precision the works of the great masters of art, and this practice, far from being a simple imitation, is a form of homage, a rigorous technical exercise that requires attention and respect for the artistic heritage.
Copying keeps the flame of the great masters alive, while offering contemporary artists a way to learn. By perpetuating this tradition, I want to ensure that the techniques and visions of the old masters remain a source of inspiration for future generations.
Copies are regulated and cannot reproduce the original dimensions of the work: they are either larger or smaller. Owning or painting a replica of a masterpiece is the culmination of a shared passion: every project requires prior discussion and the careful preparation of an estimate that takes into account both the level of precision expected and the time needed to complete it.
